Sol Defense is the primary interplanetary policy agency responsible for maintaining peace and order throughout the Sol System. While often perceived and self-proclaimed as neutral, its actions and alliances reveal a complex, often compromised, reality. For example, up until the Battle of Oberon, Sol Defense had turned a blind eye to many of the Gamma Trita Corporation (GTC)'s underhanded business practices.

Notable Personnel:

• Rafael Cotes: Admiral in charge of Sol Defense
• Benton Regis: Former captain of flagship Vespasian. Sacrificed himself and damaged Vespasian to ensure destruction of Project Galatea facility at the Battle of Oberon.
• Isobel Zhou: Current captain of flagship Galahad. Formerly captain of Trafalgar. Gained noterioty for extreme measures used to quell revolts on Iapetus and Io.
• Gav Fahey: Commander on Vespasian who sacrificed himself along with Captain Regis to destroy Project Galatea facility on Oberon.
• Donovan Singer: First officer of Galahad under Captain Zhou. Formerly security officer on Vespasian. Decorated hero from Battle of Oberon.
• Anchev Perdomo: Head of Security on Galahad under Captain Zhou.
• Elizabeth Courlin: Former first officer of Vespasian under Captain Regis. Discovered to be double agent working for Deed Industries and arrested for treason. While imprisoned on Ceres, executed by order of Terance Tamoon.
• Delia Monroe: Lieutenant commander on Galahad under Captain Zhou. Oversees Crew Life
• Jance: Rookie officer assigned to Mars system.

Relationships:

• Free Mars: Warming - since Battle of Oberon and Sol Defense's restoration of neutral status
• Earth Works: Cooling - since Battle of Oberon, after which Sol Defense has a greater adversarial view of GTC, which remains a close Earth Works ally
• Deed Industries: Warm - Deed Industries positioning itself to become primary ship provider for Sol Defense, beginning with transfer of Man-o-War battleship Galahad to the Sol Defense fleet
• Gamma Trita Corporation: Cold - Sol Defense's participation in the destruction of the Project Galatea facility on Oberon sealed the end of its biased leanings towards GTC.
• Ventrans: Warm - cooperative for many decades. Been aggressively quelling the growing number of anti-Ventran protests throughout Sol.
