Free Mars is a prominent political and corporate entity within the Sol System, often positioned as a counterbalance to the dominant Gamma Trita Corporation (GTC) and its loyal partner, Earth Works. It plays a significant role in the ongoing power struggles and political machinations of the galaxy. Along with Earth Works, is celebrating its 100th year of existence.

Controlled Worlds:

• Mercury: primarily mining operations including solar power capturing
• Mars: base of operations and considered the overall wealthiest, most prosperous world in all of Sol
• Saturn: most prominently the flourishing Titan
• Pluto: predominately mining operations plus remote research stations
• Charon: minimal operations

Relationships:

• Earth Works: Cool - have coexisted for 100 years, but slow deterioration as Earth Works has allied closer and closer with the controversial GTC
• Sol Defense: Warming - strained when Sol Defense was turning a blind eye to GTC's underhanded activities. Now warmer since the Battle of Oberon and Sol Defense's stand against Project Galatea
• Deed Industries: Warm - favored vessel-providing partner, in response to Earth Works-GTC tight partnership
• Cressus Mining: Warm - primary supplier of mining equipment and vessels to Free Mars and their profitable worlds such as Mercury and Pluto
• Gamma Trita Corporation: Cold - since Battle of Oberon, little to no cooperation 
• Ventrans: Warm - cooperative relationship for many decades
